Wii Portable Hard Drive...or Just an Air Conditioner?

This image emerged on the internet some time today and claimed to be a Nintendo-designed hard drive for the Wii. Luckily, some guy named JC Fletcher smelled something fishy and did some research. Through Amazon Japan, Fletcher managed to bust this myth. The Big N dismissed the image as "rumor and speculation" when CVG inquired. I do admit, a hard drive to store VC games and extra channels would be pretty damn nice.

I't would be nice to have an External hardrive of some sorts for wii.

This is Nintendo's way of torturing us in some way. I don't care if they aren't responsible for this rumor, it's just stupid. This should tell them that we WANT an external hard drive of some sort, but no, they just say "lol dats not reel" and keep making Wii Sports 2. Good job Nintendo, good job.

bet i know the issue behind not making one cause eventually someone would find a way to get the games off it on onto a computer and then pirated stuff ALL over again -.- cause like most computers have USB and thats the way they would make portable hard drives, and someone could probably easily find a way to rip the games off just my thought tho :confused:

Yeah, you can do that on an SD Card too. Put VC games on it and connect it to your computer.

...To be honest, I still don't see what the big deal is with a hard drive. GH is already showing that SD Cards easily fix the DLC problem, and if you honestly need more storage space, you probably need fewer games. :P

But games won't load off an SD, so no, it's not fixed. But that's easily fixed via firmware.

I still see it as a problem. I have 9 VC games and 2 Wii Ware games and I'm almost out of space. D: Brawl's a real killer..

I'm just glad Vicarious Visions is allowing the use of SD cards instead of no DLC due to the lack of internal memory.

We've already got portable Wii HD's, they're called 16 GB SD cards. I saw one on sale for $40 once.

Not sure 16GB SD cards would work... officially, Wii only supports up to 2GB.

If you use homebrew then a USB greater than 2GB will work :wink:...But yeah SD card is only 2GB :sad:.

The blue printed title didn't make sense to me? but then again I guess its because I don't own a Wii (I know I need one :cry:.) but ya hard drive? that's gonna pwn.

EDIT: ah now I see a link posted that's why now I understand the blue title oh wow ya definitely a AC :lol: nah JK wow Nintendo needs to work on the size of that SOB (if you don't know what SOB means you need a dummy smack :lol:.)

Well it just look like an air conditioner :mad: In all ways I see it, Its just an air conditioner, but It would be cool to have a wii Hard Drive =/
